Super easy and delicious comfort food. Perfect for skillet or crockpot cooking and very easy for feeding guests.

Cheesy Sausage Pasta

This is our go-to Salmon recipe after a well-worked day. Sometimes on those long days, we don't know how much time we have to make a healthy and delicious meal for the family so I decided to make this as simply as possible. Usually, I reserve two hours for cooking, but this recipe only requires 20-30 minutes. This pairs well with broccoli tossed lightly in garlic broccoli and on a bed of brown rice.

Here's what you'll need

- Olive oil

- 13oz. Turkey Sausage

- 1 box Bowtie Pasta (12 oz in a boz)

- 1-2 Medium or sharp cheddar cheese

- 1/4 cup of milk

- 1 stock of Green Onions

- 1 can Rotel

If you don't have Rotel at home or if you need a minimal salt option, here is what you'll need for your own Rotel!

- 1 Large tomato

- 1 Red onion

- 1 Green chili

Optional: jalapenos

How to make Cheesy Sausage Pasta

Add a light layer of olive oil to a large sauté pan over medium heat. In a large boiling pot, bring water to a boil with a dash of salt. Boil the noodles for 5-6 minutes. You'll want the noodles slightly hard because they will continue to cook with the other components later.

Chop the turkey sausage into 1/4 inch thick pieces. Fry the chopped turkey sausage until slightly browned. This recipe is amazing with the contagious flavor of the sausage mixing with all other components. While frying, keep covered to contain the moisture and juice. Add the chopped garlic cloves, green onion and Rotel. If making home-made Rotel, dice large tomato, finely chop red onion, and green chili, then toss all together.

After pasta has boiled for 5-6 minutes (has slight crunch), add sausage mix with noodles, cheese, milk, and additional 2 tbsp. of olive oil in a large pot on the stove. Mix the combination and let sit on low-medium heat for 10 minutes. Check every 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted. Lastly, enjoy!
